Burlington’s Public Art program is inviting residents to a pop-up art event titled Art, The City + You at Spencer Smith Park, Saturday, June 3, 2017, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Art, the City + You is a one day pop-up art project that asks Burlington residents to re-imagine the park as a place of art and creativity in the city. Children and adults can join the play-space and add to a collaborative structure that will grow throughout the day.
This is the third and final piece of the Cultural Nodes series produced by artist Lisa Hirmer. Cultural Nodes are areas within the city where residents can experience and share culture.
Date: Saturday, June 3, 2017
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Spencer Smith Park, near the playground equipment
Rain date will be Sunday, June 4, 2017.
About Lisa Hirmer
Hirmer is an interdisciplinary artist who has created publicly engaged projects across the world and has worked with University of Lethbridge Gallery, Peninsula Arts (U.K.), Flux Factory (USA), Harbourfront Centre (Toronto), Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, Nuit Blanche (Toronto), CAFKA (Kitchener-Waterloo) and Doris McCarthy Gallery (Toronto) amongst many others.
